ADA Hotline Program
ADA Hotline & Certification through California Outdoor Hospitality Association
California Outdoor Hospitality Association has partnered with MHRV ACE and Rudderow Law Group to bring you the ADA Hotline and Certification Program.
Much like our Legal Hotline Program, the ADA Hotline will assist members with questions related to disabled visitors and the park's responsibilities. Members will receive unlimited, single-subject calls to our ADA specialist.
The Certified Access Specialist (CASp) program was created by Senate Bill 262 (Chapter 872, 2003) and is designed to meet the public's need for experienced, trained, and tested individuals who can inspect buildings and sites for compliance with applicable state and federal construction-related accessibility standards. The CASp program is governed by Title 21 Voluntary Certified Access Specialist Program Regulations.
Having a business/property reviewed by a CASp shows that you care about ensuring equal access for all of your customers, and that you intend to follow the law. The good-faith effort of hiring a CASp may lessen your liability and provide certain legal benefits if an accessibility claim is filed against you.
COHA members who elect to complete a CASp inspection will receive a window sticker as well as a CASp certified badge for their listing in the Camper's Guide and on the new Camp-California website (should they choose to display it.)

Why contact MHRV ACE?
CASp Inspections
MHRV ACE will come to your mobile home or RV park and conduct a thorough CASp inspection for proper accessibility. They will then issue you a full report with indications of any items needing to be corrected, at which time you will be issued a "CASp Determination Pending" certificate. You will then correct these items on your own reasonable schedule. Lastly, you will get your CASp certificate for your window showing that your building is ADA compliant.
CASp Assistance During Construction
If accessibility issues are keeping you from getting plans approved or holding up final inspection approvals, MHRV ACE can help.
MHRV ACE has helped businesses in various cities and counties throughout California avoid having to spend time and money on unnecessary accessibility upgrades just to open their doors.
As a Certified Access Specialist, MHRV ACE has extensive knowledge of the current standards and equivalent facilitation. Most building departments do not employ a CASp, and must err on the side of caution, which in the end, only costs you money.

CASp Assistance During Litigation
MHRV ACE has been able to get lawsuits dismissed based on Safe Harbor laws. If you are in a lawsuit based on current codes, and you believe that your business is compliant with the 1991 ADA Standards, you may qualify for SAFE HARBOR. You need a Certified Access Specialist who is knowledgeable with these laws, and who is willing to put in the time to put these elements into the report.
MHRV ACE has experienced multiple lawsuits dismissed thanks to their knowledge and reporting of these factors, and can do the same for you.

Tax Advantages
To help offset the expense associated with upgrades to your park required by ADA regulations, the IRS has enacted tax credits and accelerated depreciation advantages to eligible small businesses who undertake accessibility upgrades. MHRV ACE can help guide you through the process of determining eligibility for these special programs.
